Episode 94: “Info Dump”

Show notes: In this 94th episode of “Drawing Funny” I give you a quick info dump of some of the Mid-South Cartoonists Association upcoming activity, and other events coming up around town and in the midsouth.

I discuss the MSCA’s monthly dinner gatherings at Garibaldi’s Pizza , Con Cards game nights, Rogue’s Gallery Memphis Strikes Back, Novel Memphis’ Junior Drawing Club, Stage & Sketch at The Dixon Gallery and Gardens, The Mid-South Collectible Toy Show, Memphis Monster Con, Memphis Monster Market, Ave Maria Home visit, Rogues Gallery Memphis Strikes Back, Baron Von Opperbean and The River of Time, the Alpha Omega Veterans Center comics donations, Team Toshigawa at SDCC and the next episode of “Jetta”, and the future WKNO Art Show Exhibition in 2027.

I wish the Memphis Ghostbusters franchise a happy 10th anniversary. MSCA president Kevin L. Williams and I officially formed back in 2016 which is the same year that the movie “Ghostbusters: Answer The Call” was released.

I also tell you about our new terror dog “puppy”, Koda. He’s a good boy- who just keeps getting bigger! (Those two pics were taken just a month or so apart.)

I’m wrapping up my “Featured Creatures” art show at Playhouse on the Square. My monster themed show ran from June 6 until this weekend, August 2, 2026 All art shows on display are free to attend during Playhouse’s normal business hours at 66 South Cooper Street, Memphis, TN 38104.

I have several scare-brushed Monsterpieces, some “Scared Silly” marker illustrations, and wood panel acrylic maker paintings on display and for sale. I’ve sold a few pieces already, and whatever doesn’t sell there I’ll have at the Memphis Monster Market in October, and the Memphis Monster Con in November, as well as some new pieces.

The Memphis Monster Market is celebrating it’s 10th anniversary this year, too!

Pardon all the potty humor, but July has bee a rough and scary month for me physically. I had a case of the “explosive diarrhea” for just about the whole month, and am still trying to get rid of it. I recorded this episode yesterday and last night I was up all night running to the bathroom, so since I was up I just went ahead and edited the episode. Also had leg cramps so bad I had to have my wife help me out of bed yesterday. I get lower leg cramps from time to time, but never upper ones and none so bad that I couldn’t move my knee or have it feel like I’m dislocating my hip! Am currently uploading this episode between trips to the bathroom…again. Ugh, I’m hoping all this is gone by August..!
