Episode 11 – “Batman VS Superking”
Show Notes: We’re gonna start this new year with a trip back to the past in this “Flashback Friday” episode. Originally recorded for the Rogues Radio Podcast at the 2018 Memphis Comic Expo (AKA “DonnieCon“). I talk with the Bluff City Batman (James Fyke), wrestling historian and author Mark James, and wrestling legend Jerry “The King” Lawler. We discuss Memphis wrasslin’, comics, art, food, heart-attacks, and Batmobiles. Lots of Memphis memories are recalled. Unfortunately, Jerry’s friend Jim Blake (who you hear mentioned in this episode) passed away October 1, 2020- he was 75 years old. Jim was a local business owner and heavily involved in underground music and art in the 60’s, 70’s and into the 80’s. He was an avid comic book fan and could be seen at local comic shops and conventions. R.I.P., Jim.
